OEM Part Numbers, Explained: How Cross-Reference Works
If you've ever ordered wear parts, you've seen codes like "111530017-K" or "46.BCS03" printed on the tooth or in the manual. These are OEM part numbers — the reference codes used by the original equipment manufacturer. Here's how they work and how to use them to find the right aftermarket part.
What an OEM part number is
An OEM part number is the manufacturer's internal code for a specific part. For mulcher teeth, the number usually encodes the machine family, the tooth generation and the mounting type. Two machines of the same brand and model will almost always use the same tooth — and the same OEM number.
Why the same part has different numbers
You'll often see several numbers that all refer to the same physical tooth:
- The original OEM number (e.g. FAE 111530017-K)
- A superseded number (the factory replaced the old code when the part was revised)
- A cross-reference number from an aftermarket supplier's own catalog
That's why an aftermarket product page shows a full cross-reference table: brand, OEM number, and what it fits. If your number appears in that table, the part is a direct replacement.
How to use our cross-reference table
- Find the OEM number on your old tooth — it's usually stamped on the body or listed in the parts manual.
- Open the product page and check the OEM Cross-Reference table.
- If your number matches, the part fits. Order with confidence.
What if you can't find the number?
No stamp, worn-off marking, or an unusual machine? Don't guess — send us:
- A photo of the old part (top and side views)
- The machine brand, model and rotor type
- The bolt size if you can measure it (e.g. M16)
